Current Students - Student Center
It is sometimes challenging for students to manage the finances while studying. Here are some ideas that have helped some students. Commonly used solutions to 'make ends meet' include paid internships; scholarships; student loans; grants and part-time jobs.
Scholarship
Scholarship is granted on the basis of students' need, academic performance, and other merit criteria.
SU offers a few scholarships every year. Contact your program director or someone at the International Student Center for more information. Scholarships from other institutions and organizations may also be obtained.
Student Loans
Have you already investigated the option of taking a student loan? Student loans allow you to borrow money from a bank at a reduced interest rate to finance your studies.
Part-time Jobs
Part-time jobs and temporary jobs provide another way to finance your studies.
Unfortunately it is illegal for non-Thai students to work in Thailand with a student visa. If you intend to work while studying you must apply for a business visa (non-immigrant B), which allow you both to work and study in Thailand.
Managing your Personal Finance
Many students find it useful to create a monthly budget and stick to it.
